mutiny---A conspiracy to seize command,
usually the result of intolerable or unfair treatment of the crew including
food shortages, humiliation, sleep deprivation, the issuing of unlawful/dangerous
or immoral orders, and poor navigation on the part of the commanding officers.
Mutineers have been known to set the non-mutineers adrift in a small boat and
make a getaway with the ship. Probably the most recalled mutiny was aboard the cutter
HMS Bounty during the late
1700’s against the notorious commanding officer Lieutenant Bligh. Bligh was
commissioned to sail to Tahiti and bring breadfruit plants to Jamaica to feed
the slaves
